Key Objectives
• To educate about the traditions, history, and teachings of the Roman Catholic church.
• To prepare for celebrating the Holy Mass through catechesis and reflection.
• To inspire prayer, reflection, and dialogue on current events, issues of interest, and Christian discipleship.
• To connect young people with their local parishes, schools, dioceses, and each other.
• To link to quality Catholic resources on the internet.
Ecclesiastical Approbation
Disciples Now operates with the approbation of the Archbishop of Baltimore.
Disciples Now Ministries, Inc.
Disciples Now Ministries, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Maryland. Leadership for Disciples Now Ministries is provided by an independent Board of Directors. The organization is closely affiliated with the Archdiocese of Baltimore Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry which provides oversight of the catechetical content.
Disciples Now Ministries was formed by a group of youth ministry and faith formation professionals in Baltimore, Maryland in July 1999. DisciplesNow.com debuted at the National Catholic Youth Conference in November of that year. For eight years, a dedicated group of volunteers and staff provided editorial, catechetical, and operational resources for the website. These individuals had significant experience in Catholic youth ministry, many of them serving as professional staff in parishes, schools, and diocesan chanceries. In 2008, DisciplesNow.com joined the FaithStreams Network which provides ministerial, editorial, technological, and promotional support through a team of professional staff, consultants, and volunteers.
Disciples Now Ministries, Inc. is financially supported by donations, grants, and partnerships from individuals, organizations, and corporations. Contributions to Disciples Now Ministries, Inc. are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
